STRUCTURE AND MATERIAL
Steel screw foundation is the best possible solution for frost-resistant foundation of both light and heavyweight structures. The steel screw foundation consists of a steel pole with a special patented tip and it is simply rotated to the ground. The tip has a cone shape body with a helical flange. The flange drives the pole to the soil whereas the cone compacts the soil as the pole penetrates into the ground. This maintains the compactness of the soil and leaves the ground undisturbed around the pole. The pole is made of steel pipe (S 355 J2H) and the steel screw foundation is completely hot dip galvanized.
Most common sizes are:
| STEEL SCREW FOUNDATION |
PILING |
| Pipe: |
Helical flange: |
|
| 60,3 x 2,9 mm |
150 mm |
60,3 x 6,3 ja 76,1 x 6,3 mm |
| 114,3 x 3,6 mm |
250 mm |
88,9 x 6,3 ja 114,3 x 6,3 mm |
| 114,3 x 6,3 mm |
400 mm |
139,7 x 10,0 ja 323,9 x 8,0 mm |
In heavyweight structures the steel screw foundation can be used with pipe sizes of 115/250 mm, 140/400 mm, 220/600 mm and larger. The thickness of the steel pipe can flexibly vary according to the pipe and post standards and the load requirements. The screw steel foundation is especially good for renovation construction. The silent and non-vibrating method is suitable as foundation for 1 - 2 floor buildings and for large area buildings, e.g. schools. The screw steel foundation is also suitable for under-water building (e.g. bridges, wharves and piers) as an replacement for the wooden piles.
